Activision has just confirmed that Call of Duty: Ghosts will lead six titles onto the Wii U this fall. The company had previously refused to confirm whether or not the game would be heading to Nintendo's next-gen console, but today's confirmation will put speculation that the game will not be getting a Wii U release to rest.
In all, Activision will be releasing six new games on the Wii U. They are as follows:
Call of Duty: Ghosts (November 5)
Skylanders SWAP Force (October 13 North America, October 16 Australia, October 18 Europe)
Angry Birds Trilogy (August 13)
Angry Birds Star Wars (October 29)
Spongebob SquarePants: Plankton’s Robotic Revenge (date TBA)
Wipeout Create & Crash (date TBA)
As Activision's Dan Amrich notes on his personal blog, Activision got behind the Wii U in a big way with the release of seven major titles during the Nintendo-defined launch window.
"That’s a lot; historically, Activision hasn’t gone so big so quickly with new hardware. For instance, the company committed just three to the Xbox 360′s debut (bonus points if you can name them from memory). Clearly, Activision sees big things for Wii U going forward."
