Europa Universalis IV Developer Diary Showcases Violent Conquest

July 25, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Crush your enemies and see them driven before you.

Paradox Interactive has released a new developer diary for Europa Universalis IV, showcasing the wide world of open warfare in the game, including the dire costs of protracted battle on your fledgling empire – such as money, manpower, and morale.

Europa Universalis IV Project Lead Thomas Johansson explains the nuances of war strategy in this latest video diary. Paradox Development Studio has changed the pace, the balance, and the consequences of warfare in their latest creation, challenging tacticians everywhere to keep their nations together during times of strife.

Strategy fans can prepare for the long road to conquest by pre-ordering Europa Universalis IV. Pre-orders come with several pieces of bonus DLC, with further awards to be revealed in August. Further details on pre-orders and all bonuses can be found here.

Europa Universalis IV is the latest installment in the award-winning series, with more than a million copies sold, and will release worldwide on August 13 for PC, Mac and Linux. The game gives you control of a nation to guide it through the years and create a dominant global empire in the age of exploration.
