The Arma 3 Beta has been given a new update replete with new vehicles. Titled the "APC Package", the new update carries with it the BTR-K Kamysh and IFV-6c Panther vehicles. As the name of the package suggests, they're both a couple of armored personnel carriers. In addition to the two new warmachines, the patch adds better integration of BattlEye (BE) to improve the game's multiplayer experience.
The OPFOR’s BTR-K Kamysh is described as a “prime example of first-class Russian engineering,” and comes equipped with a CTWS turret fitted with a 30mm cannon, coaxial machinegun and 2 guided AT missiles, making the vehicle “significant in the infantry support role.”
Meanwhile, the IFV-6c Panther offers strong armor for the protection of the infantry it carries, and is armed with an RCWS HMG, 40mm grenade machine gun, and smoke flares. The vehicle can carry up to eight soldiers in its cargo bay.
The aforementioned BattlEye (BE) software serves as an anti-cheat mechanism for Arma 3, and is developed by BattlEye Innovations. It's designed to help server hosts detect and respond to multiplayer hacks.
The game's new update will be automatically downloaded on Steam, provided you have the game installed on your hard drive.
To participate in the game's ongoing beta, you only need to pre-purchase the game on Steam for instant access.
