George Hotz, better known as the notorious hacker GeoHot—or celebrated, depending on your perspective—will find himself in hot water if Sony's claim that he registered a PSN account is true.
Sony alleges that Hotz signed up for a PSN account under the name of "blickmanic", which is tied to a console owned by him. If so, it would infer that Hotz agreed to SCEA's terms of service at the point of registering the account, thus giving SCEA considerable weight to get Hotz tried in a Californian court. Sony also claims that the IP address logged into the account belongs to Hotz.
Hotz's legal team naturally contests the allegations. They claim that the serial number provided by Sony doesn't match Hotz's most recently purchased PS3.
Hotz denies any knowledge of the existence of SCEA, and claims that he believes the PS3 to be a product of Sony Japan. It's a stretch by any definition of the term.
