NBA 2K14 Community Team-Up Returns

July 23, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

The community leaders will once again have an impact on NBA 2K.

The community surrounding the NBA 2K franchise is a vocal one, and while those who play the games rarely get an opportunity to have any sort of impact on the final product, the development team is looking for feedback. Ronnie 2K, who’s known to be the best source for everything at 2K, has sent out a Community Team-Up call to invite the best and brightest commentators to San Francisco. Why would the company pay to fly strangers to their studio? 2K Games is giving these community leaders a chance to not only play NBA 2K14 early, but also have an impact on the feature set that will appear in the retail game.

This Team-Up is something that’s been done in the past, and while there won’t be too many people actually in San Francisco enjoying pre-release gameplay, those who are invited are expected to report back to the community concerning everything they saw. This will help pull all the sports-savvy players together to come up with solutions to long-standing problems and tweaks to systems that might just need an update. Even if there aren’t many issues with the game that need the community’s attention, the opportunity to enjoy the blockbuster months before release is worth the time spent traveling.

#NBA2K14 News: @LD2k and I are bringing back Community Team-Up. Who do you think should come in, see the game early, & report back to fans?

2K Games is also seeking help on the game’s soundtrack, which cover athlete LeBron James is building as we speak. If you have opinions on either this Team-Up or the soundtrack, make sure to send your Tweets at James, Ronnie 2K, and the official 2K Games account.
