Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead left an impression on players. In a year filled with bombastic sequels and over-the-top action titles, the narrative brilliance and character struggles featured in this episodic series stood out. The recently released 400 Days spinoff was a nice teaser, but fans are still hungry for Season 2 of this breakout hit. Thankfully, studio chief executive Dan Connors at least answered a few of the world’s burning questions at a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con.
It’s almost impossible to play through all five episodes of this adventure game without building some sort of connection to Clementine. The leading lady’s part in the second season has been unclear up to this point, but Connors did confirm that she "will definitely be a part of" the upcoming episodes. A teaser image was actually shown during that panel that featured Clementine sitting in the rain next to a child character that we are yet to identify.
That’s not all the news that came out during the show. The fate of everyone’s favorite redneck, Kenny, "could be revealed" in the second season, and yes, all the data built up during the original five episodes and 400 Days will somehow be featured in the new chapters. A few characters from the comics just might make an appearance, too.
Are we really ready to battle through another emotional journey? If Season 2 is anything like the first one, we’ll probably need a few more years to recover. But that won’t stop Telltale from bringing you another round of undead heartbreak, which is scheduled for release later this year.
