Codemasters has announced F1 2013 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in both standard and Classic editions – this is to reflect the fact that vintage Formula One cars will be included in the game.
The game's creative director Steve Hood told Eurogamer, "For us the idea was that a lot of people in the community have been asking for a premium edition, and normally with a premium edition you get maybe a steel book, a USB keyring, those kinds of things. That's not what we're trying to do. We did want to incorporate the classic content, and there are a lot of deals to sign and that costs us an awful lot of money to incorporate."
Some of the content which will be included in the standard edition are commentating by veteran broadcaster Murray Walker and five cars by Williams, Lotus and Ferrari. Iconic drviers such as Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi and Mario Andretti will also feature.
Classic tracks including Jerez and Brands Hatch will be included as well.
The Classic Edition meanwhile comes with content from 1990s F1. Imola and Estoril will feature along with period cars from Ferrari and Williams. Drivers from the era, including Alain Prost, Jacques Villenuve and Eddie Irvine will star.
F1 2013 will be released later this year.
