At this weekend's EVO 2013 game periphery maker Madcatz and Killer Instinct developer Double Helix were booed by gamers angry over Microsoft's Xbox One for which the game is being developed.
Killer Instinct was announced at E3 and will be an Xbox One launch title. As you're no doubt aware, the internet and core gamers reacted extremely negatively to Microsoft and Xbox One both at the console's reveal in May and at E3 leading to the company abandoning many of its most controversial policies – it seems however that for the EVO attendees the damage has already been done.
Unfortunately for the MadCatz and Double Helix representatives the mention of Microsoft's console was enough for them to be met with angry shouts and boos despite the fact that the Killer Instinct gameplay itself seemed pretty solid. It should be noted that generally the reaction to the game was positive; the issue was solely the console it's on.
Those viewing online also commented "Xbox Off! Xbox Off!" and "When is this out for PC?" – seemingly a reference to the fact that some Xbox One games at E3 were running on PCs. While that's not unusual, a number of PS4 developers have confirmed that games on Sony's console at E3 were being played on PS4 dev kits.
