Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that the studio is considering a PS4 version of Gran Turismo 6 which is set to be released on PS3 later this year,
Speaking to Official PlayStation Magazine UK Yamauchi commented, "We actually do have a PS4 version in mind" although he didn't divulge further details about Gran Turismo 6 on Sony's next console.
Yamauchi went on to discuss how Polyphony has worked to make the game's 1,200 cars as authentic as possible allowing for more accurate handling than ever. He explained this level of immersion was possible because of extensive driving and sensor use.
"Driving a racing car, you control it with a lot of different sensors mounted on the car," he explained. "We're able to collect a lot of different date: how the ride height of the car changes when you're driving, how that changes in relation to the aerodynamics, and how your steering balance changes.
"Two weeks ago I drove the Nissan GTR GT3 on the Nurburgring, and we collected the data from that car as well – and when we returned to Japan we fed all this data into Gran Turismo. I drove the same [car and track] in Gran Turismo, and we started to realise what what was different."
A demo for Gran Turismo 6 has already been released if you want to take it for a spin. Yamauchi announced the game in May at a special event to mark the series' 15th anniversary.
