One of the big releases coming for the PlayStation 4 is the upcoming Spider-Man video game by development team Insomniac Games. This title will take players and toss them into the role of New York’s superhero, Spider-Man. For those of you who are eagerly awaiting to get their hands on a copy of the game, the thought may have crossed your mind of just how long it will take to beat this upcoming title.
We finally know that answer as Insomniac Games Community Director, James Stevenson, has answered a question regarding the length of the game via Twitter. With his Twitter announcement, James unveiled that the average playtime their team of Play testers took is about twenty hours. That is also reportedly accomplished while playing on the default difficulty.
However, it looks like you may be spending a bit more time than their standard play tests simply due to the fact that Spider-Man features an open-world environment. As a result, there’s a good chance you’ll end up exploring the city while also taking part in various side quests.
our average play tester took around 20 hours on default difficulty, but some spent a lot longer if they did a ton of side quests/activities

Not only will there be an active criminal activity that you can clean up, but there are other optional missions such as defusing bombs or tracking down collectibles. Regardless of what is available within the game, it’s likely that most players are not picking this game up to avoid exploring the open-world and instead run through the main campaign.
Currently, Spider-Man from Insomniac Games is set to release exclusively on the PlayStation 4 this September 7, 2018.
