Even with the PS4 around the corner, the PS3 will not transfer the PlayStation baton without releasing a few bigger exclusive.
Beyond: Two Souls, starring Ellen Page, will tell a story of coping with personal tragedy. Recognizable game developer, David Cage, wanted to build a game around something he experienced previously in his own life. Like most games developed by Quantic Dream, the story can unfold in many different ways based on the players decision. In the trailer you will notice one instance where the player can either choose to jump off the edge of a building or back away. The decision made will ultimately affect the story's events.
But with multiple decisions comes a variety of scripts written to accommodate all of the different paths a player can take. A script of over 2000 pages details exactly how elaborate the process can become when trying to construct a cohesive narrative for each unique story.
In the above trailer you will listen to David Cage and all of the actors describe the difficulty in making Beyond, but you will also see the limited amounts of props used for each section of the game. Each scene relies heavily on the actor's imagination, and then it depends on the developers to turn the footage into something playable.
Beyond: Two Soulswill release exclusively on the PS3 October 8th
