About five years separates the new Super Smash Bros. Wii U title and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The large gap between releases means Nintendo can draw from numerous games for potential stages.
In a listed complied by Game Informer, they analyzed the E3 announcement trailer for all the possible stages you will find in the Wii U Super Smash Bros. The game will release on both the Wii U and 3DS platforms, but that won't stop Nintendo from including stages from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword or Super Mario 3D Land.
The stages in the trailer list as follows:
- Battlefield – Wii U
- Smashville – Animal Crossing
- Skyloft – The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
- Wrestling/Boxing Ring
- Dr. Wily's Fortress – Mega Man
- Yoga Studio – Wii Fit
- Battlefield – 3DS
- Gerudo Valley – The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
- Train tracks – The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
- Nintendogs Living Room – Nintendogs
- Donkey Kong Themed Stage – Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
- Arena Ferox – Fire Emblem: Awakening
- Mario Themed Stage – Super Mario 3D Land
- Mario Themed Stage – New Super Mario Bros. 2
After reading the list you will immediately notice the lack of stages from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon or Kid Icarus: Uprising. Considering some of these stages come from previous Smash Bros. games, you can expect a lot more stages revealed in the future. Super Smash Bros. Brawl featured 41 selectable stages, 10 of which came from Super Smash Bros. Melee.
At this moment Nintendo remains silent about a release date so plenty of time remains to add stages for the final release.
Super Smash Bros. will launch on Wii U and 3DS sometime in 2014.
