More DLC On The Way For Borderlands 2, Says Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford

July 8, 2013

There’s more DLC in store for Borderlands 2, beyond Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep.

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is the most recent DLC for Borderlands 2. It was just released, and many of us had assumed that it would also be the last DLC for the game.

Short of releasing more custom player skins for the game's six playable character classes, it didn't look like Gearbox had any plans to keep developing full-fledged expansion add-ons for the game—at least nothing with the length and breadth of the four DLC contained within the DLC Season Pass, which includes Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, and Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt.

It would appear that our assumptions are incorrect, and that Gearbox may still have a few more DLC up their sleeve. They've yet to announce anything, but it doesn't look like Borderlands 2's slate of content has come to an end.

Speaking to Nerdist, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford made an announcement that disqualifies said assumptions.

"We did a season pass for Borderlands 2, and the Season Pass was like 'Hey if you buy the Season Pass we would be doing four campaign add-ons and you can buy all four of them for the price of three, if you buy upfront.' So everyone was under the expectations that those would be the four DLC’s and that’s it," he said.

"We are going to do more, we are going to do some other things," continued Pitchford. "I don’t have details exactly of it yet cause were not ready to announce what the other things are, but when the next campaign DLC comes Assault On Dragon Keep not being the end of it. We got more stuff in the hopper that we’re planning and getting pretty excited about. So if your a Borderlands 2 fan you don’t have to be afraid that that’s the end of it"

That's exciting. What would you like to see them do with Borderlands 2?
