Just in time for 4th of July, Rockstar Games unveils new official art for Grand Theft Auto V, depicting family and acquaintances of the game's main protagonists.
Our feature image is of Franklin's friend Lamar. Lamar is a fellow gang banger and dope dealer, who often gets into arguments with him over their opposing ideals and personalities. In Franklin's trailer, Lamar accuses him of 'not being a good enough gang banger' and 'sounding a lot more like the FIB' (the game's version of the FBI) while the two remain active in the drug scene in Vespucci Beach.
The other image shows Michael's children Tracey and Jimmy. Both are young adults who have a poor relationship with their father, and presumably this helps adds up to Michael's disillusionment, launching the impetus for his return to crime. In Michael's trailer, Jimmy shouts at him for having to work out his mid-life crisis through his son, while Tracey shouts at him for taking the remote to watch TV while he pays her no mind.
I can see Lamar figuring into the game quite deeply down the line, but not quite Michael's progeny. At least they promise for some entertaining scenes. You can get these two images in Rockstar's requisite suite of sizes, from large wallpapers to Facebook icons, at the officiak site.
Late last year, we offered a preview of another GTA V side character, Franklin's Rottweiler Chop. You can learn more about the pugnicious pup here.
GTA V is set for release to Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17 worldwide. Rockstar recently reiterated they are focusing on the current-gen versions of the game, so we will simply have to wait and see if they follow through with releases for PC, Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One.
