Doom is a staple video game franchise that everyone is well aware of at this point. It’s been a franchise that’s seen several installments, fan games, and remakes over the years. However, the latest remake, Doom, which launched in 2016, was an incredible hit.
Developers id Software took great care of the IP and delivered a video game installment that not only held true to the original franchise mechanics and gameplay but visually appealing to play on the latest generation platforms.
It was during E3 2018 that id Software unveiled a small teaser that just gave a snippet of what’s to come with the franchise. Unsurprisingly is the fact that Doom would be receiving a sequel and while we didn’t get any real gameplay for the game during E3, we knew that more would be coming later in the year.
Just like the 2016 Doom gameplay trailer and showcase video, id Software will be debuting Doom Eternal during QuakeCon. However, unlike the last QuakeCon reveal, Doom Eternal may be showcased to everyone worldwide.
Currently, so far we know that Doom Eternal is bringing hell on Earth with players having to stop the demon invasion and save humanity. We expect there to be even more demons to fight off against though we’ll have to wait and see if there are any new mechanics included in the upcoming sequel.
As mentioned, Doom Eternal will be showcased at this year’s QuakeCon which is set to stream on August 10, 2018, at 12 pm ET. When it comes to the actual video game release, players can pick up a copy of the game next year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
The DOOM Slayer returns. Watch live as we unleash the world premiere of #DOOM Eternal gameplay on Friday, August 10 at 11am CT/12pm ET.
