For the year 2013 and many years following, 2K Sports and Euroleague Basketball will work together to bring Euroleague Turkish Airlines basketball teams to the 2K basketball franchise. In NBA 2K14 players will find 14 different European basketball teams to choose from.
As NBA teams continue to look for an edge over their competitors, their sights for scouting players looks beyond the borders of the western world. NBA team scouts more frequently go overseas to find the next Dirk Nowitzki and Ricky Rubio.
With the announcement of the partnership, neither 2K nor Euroleague Basketball mentioned if 2K14 will also feature Euroleague stadiums and basketball courts. The teams included in the NBA 2K14 are as follows:
- Alba Berlin
- FC Barcelona
- Real Madrid
- CSKA Moscow
- EA7 Emporio Armani Milano
- Montepaschi Siena
- Fenerbahçe Ülker Istanbul
- Anadolu Efes Istanbul
- Olympiacos Piraeus
- Panathinaikos Athens
- Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv
- Zalgiris Kaunas
- Unicaja Málaga
- Laboral Kutxa Vitoria
None of the listed teams will amaze you with their talent like the stacked 1992 Olympic Dream Team, but no team can compare to them at all. Majority of talented players eventually find themselves in the NBA so the Euroleague teams will matchup unfavourably against most NBA teams.
NBA 2K14 will launch October 1st in North America and October 4th in Europe.
