One of the few fans who dig split-screen co-op? This news of success may be indicative of more to come! Hazelight’s co-op adventure A Way Out has just surpassed 2.6 million players. The news was revealed during a conference call with investors and analysts following EA’s Q1 fiscal year 2019 financial results.
Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen also sang the game’s praises stating that sales for the quarter, passed expectations thanks to games such as A Way Out and titles like Battlefield 1 and FIFA Online 3.
The news is certainly good, as it could pave the way for more indie developers to benefit from the EA Originals program, and perhaps prove that there is a demand for couch-coop games still.
From the creators of Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons comes A Way Out, an exclusively co-op adventure that follows two prisoners, Leo and Vincent, making their daring escape from prison.
Together with a friend on your couch or online, you’ll explore this unlikely bond and work together to overcome any obstacle in your path to freedom.
