We might hear the most about the milestones the Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft is hitting lately, but don’t forget that the whole thing started on the trusty PC. The resource-gathering, procedurally generated adventure has become one of the most popular names of the past decade, so as you’d guess, people get excited when a new update arrives. We kept hearing about how Mojang would soon release a version 1.6 update that would add horses along with a few other much-asked-for features, and thankfully, there won’t be any more waiting. The new content is here.
“The horse update” adds mountable animals including horses, donkeys, and mules, as well as new items to craft. Resource packs will take the place of texture packs, and include textures, sounds, language files, fonts, and end credits without altering any of the Minecraft code. A list of a few of the general changes can be seen below:
· Resource Packs
· Replace texture packs
· Also allow for language packs and sounds to be changed
· Added some splash screens
· "HURNERJSGER"
