The UK charts are out, and – of course – The Last of Us is still on top, despite a 48% drop in sales. The lack of significant new releases this week means that Animal Crossing: New Leaf has also remained in its high position – in this case second place – despite a similar drop in sales (55%). Yet again, FIFA 13 has climbed back up the charts to retake third place, thanks to a 62% increase in sales. UKIE also points out that this is the first time the “ASP average over all formats” for FIFA 13 has dropped below £25. I suspect that FIFA 13 will stay determinedly in the top ten (and often in the top five) until FIFA 14 comes out.
Counter to the up-and-down motion of the games above it in the charts, Tomb Raider has remained steady on its performance last week, with only a 4% drop in sales, and has remained at number four. Far from steady is Max Payne 3, which has experienced a 602% increase in sales because of “some massive price promotion on 360/PS3”, and jumped back into the charts at number five. Call of Duty: Black Ops II also gets a price promotion and a boost, in this case a 55% increase in sales and sixth position in the charts.
While this week was not a big one for new releases, MotoGP 13 – apparently the newest entry in the franchise since MotoGP 08 – has launched at number fifteen. Check out the rest of the charts on the UKIE website.
