Aside from the one teaser trailer showing not gameplay, but the concepts of Rainbow 6: Patriots, Ubisoft remained quiet about the progress of its development.
With E3 wrapping up, Ubisoft confirmed that Rainbow 6: Patriots will now release as a next generation title. Ubisoft's senior vice president of sales and marketing, Tony key, told IGN about the next-gen release.
Tony Key failed to acknowledge the title as Rainbow 6: Patriots but still reassured that Ubisoft is "absolutely making another Rainbow 6. We’ve already said so. We just, as we enter this new generation, have to make sure we make the right game at the right time with the right feature sets."
With Watch Dogs, The Crew and a number of other large games still in development, Tony Key explained that “we can’t — and we don’t want to — make ten giant blockbuster games at the same time."
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 launched back in 2008 as Ubisoft's last Rainbow 6 game. Contrary to what you imagined, Vegas 2 spent majority of the game in industrial plants and construction sites rather than shooting your way through casinos and city streets.
You can watch the Rainbow 6: Patriots concept video on the official website where the name still remains unchanged.
