EA has taken a firm stance on the issue of used-game trading and lending. Contrary to popular belief, the publisher is totally OK with it.
EA Labels chief Frank Gibeau said to investors that the company will figure out its strategy based on the information both Microsoft and Sony have released, and that they will be looking at a "gamer-first perspective so [they] can continue to have a relationship with used game users that is a positive experience."
He made his statements following those by EA Games label boss Patrick Soderlund, who stated to Eurogamer that the company has absolutely no problems with second-hand sales as they are today.
"We clearly articulated our stance when we abandoned Online Pass," he said.
"We obviously have to look at what the first-parties are doing and follow any rules, but we have to scramble after these conferences and come back to what we think is right," Söderlund said.
"But again, our general thesis is what the fans tell us they want, we'll give them."
