Not a day goes by when a new game doesn't get announced. Sometimes the game is little more than a rehash of preexisting games, and other times, the game is genuinely something to look forward to. Fortunately for us–or at least for me–"Fallen Frontier" just might fit into the latter category.
It's arguable that "Fallen Frontier", a "metroidvania" type of game, maybe little more than a rehash of the Castlevania series with the control mechanics of the 1996 side-scrolling action game "Abuse," but "Fallen Frontier" promises to deliver cooperative gameplay the likes of which the genre has never seen.
Moonshot Games showed off a demo that was little more than a proof of concept at the recent PAX East 2011 convention that wowed audiences with its cyberpunk setting and seamless co-op gameplay that used elements from its aforementioned spiritual predecessors and also certain aspects of Halo, such as a regenerating health bar. The game also borrows Bionic Commando's grappling hook allowing the player to traverse the level like Batman and pull enemies towards him.
A video of the game in action can be seen below. The game's release date is yet to be announced.
