Deep Silver and 4A Games have released the Mobius trailer for Metro: Last Light as a thank you to fans who helped the game achieve higher sales in its first week than the original entry in the series, Metro 2033, managed in three months.
In fact, it's Deep Silver's most commercially successful game to date. You can check out the Mobius trailer below. The video, which moves about post-apocalyptic Moscow's underground systems showcases the awful conditions people are forced to endure as well as some of the threats they face just to survive. It's grim yet impressive, have a look.
4A commented "The Mobius was created by Alexander Bereznyak, aka Monakh, who was originally employed by 4A as a capture artist. Soon it turned out that his telent was needed in the production team and he took over the role as lead technical artist. But over a couple of months, he continued to work alone on this trailer, that is now made public."
Part of Last Light's success can no doubt be attributed to its release on PS3, Metro 2033 was only launched on Xbox 360 and PC. Of course, going multiplatform titles are far from guaranteed to be successes with Insomniac's first multiplatform title, FUSE, fizzling out at 37th in the UK charts for its first week on the market.
There's a series of DLC for Last Light on the way which is detailed here. Given the title's success it seems likely that we may get to see more of Metro in the future.
