Grid 2 Launches at the Top of the UK Charts, Fuse is 37th

Grid 2 has launched at the top of the UK charts, according to UKIE. In doing so, the game has managed to outperform its predecessor, which only ever made it to second place in the UK charts when it launched in 2008. It has not, however, managed to outsell Grid, and has actually made it to the top of the charts with 29% fewer sales than the original game. Again, this seems indicative of a general decrease in sales figures in the industry.

The only other new entry to make it into the Top 40 in the UK charts this week is Fuse, though only barely. The PlayStation exclusive, which has been developed by Insomniac Games (of Ratchet & Clank fame) and focuses on four-player co-op, has only managed to make it to number 37.

The rest of the charts is a familiar scene. The top ten in particular is dominated by games that have been out for months. FIFA 13 is in second place again, and UKIE posits that the half term may have contributed to its 17% increase in sales on last week. Last week's number one, Resident Evil: Revelations, has fallen to number five, which has allowed Dead Island: Riptide to climb to number three despite no increase in sales. Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed III have also both had increased sales, but Metro Last Light and Donkey Kong Country Returns have both seen their sales fall.
