UPDATE: Microsoft has confirmed Fable: Anniversary will be a reworking of Fable: The Lost Chapters, which is set to be released this Autumn.
Ted Timmins, the project's lead designer, commented "We're really exicted to be bringing a re-mastered version of Fable: The Lost Chapters to the Xbox 360. It's been one of the biggest community requests as we know how much the fans love the original game."
You can see the game's box art below.
ORIGINAL STORY: UK developer Lionhead has released a teaser trailer for the next Fable title mere days before Microsoft's pre-E3 media briefing where the title will almost certainly be fully revealed.
This follows the re-launch of the Fable forums yesterday which sparked speculation another entry in the series was on the way. The trailer opens with a series of Tweets directed at Lionhead asking if the original Fable would ever see a remake strongly suggesting that a HD re-release is on the way to Xbox 360.
The original Fable was released for the first Xbox in 2004 with an expanded game entitled The Lost Chapters released for PC 2005.
At the end of the trailer, Jack of Blades one of the core characters in Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters turns towards the viewer and says "After an eternity away from you all Jack of Blades is back!"
Alternatively, Lionhead could be developing a new entry in the series aimed in which Jack features prominently but a HD remake seems more likely.
They also provide a #HideTheChickens hashtag because, well it's Fable and chickens. Hopefully, we'll see Fable 4 for Xbox One announced at E3 as well.
