The Pokemon series has spread its wings far and wide over an ever-growing fanbase since its conception in 1996 by Satoshi Tajiri and Nintendo. Since then, movies, animes, card games, board games and more have been spawned from its lush lore. The series has also done a good job of retaining its older consumer base via its game series, which still offers intriguing and complex gameplay. For example, do a quick search on Effort Values, and you'll see that there is much more to these games than meets the eye.
While the games do a lot of heavy lifting for the franchise, what really hooks future loyal fans are the various anime series and movies that have been created to accompany them. Mostly every gamer – Pokemon fan or not – is familiar with Ash, Misty and Brock. They formed the original trio of Pokemon trainers that fans would follow, and are arguably one of the more popular groups of characters within the canon.
At any rate, news has hit the web today that announces yet another season for the popular anime portion of Pokemon. At the 32nd Prize Fair in Japan, Banpresto handed out a pamphlet detailing the day's schedule. If you look under the "TOPICS" section of the below picture, you'll recognize an advertisement that indicates Pokemon X and Y will be airing in October of this year. This probably doesn't come as much of a surprise for most avid Pokemon fans, as the series generally follows the same timeline as the games.
