Batman: Arkham Origins’ Deathstroke DLC May Skip Wii U

June 3, 2013 by Stephen Daly

A playable Deathstroke may not be coming to Nintendo’s console.

DLC for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins which adds Deathstroke as a playable character in challenge mode may not be released for the Wii U version of the game.

A NeoGAF thread which complies the various promotional materials for the game notes that while the Wii U version is listed for pre-order the marketing material notes that the DLC "may not be available on all platforms."

In addition, the Wii U version is the only one which does not feature the Deathstroke DLC sticker although the game's Amazon page does suggest it will be included with pre-orders.

Futhermore, a press release from Warner Brothers concerning the DLC reads "Deathstroke confirmed as playable character in Batman: Arkham Origins challenge mode pre-order now for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC for exclusive early access to the Deathstroke pack.

"Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment confirmed that Deathstroke will be a fully playable character in the challenge mode for Batman: Arkham Origins. Fans who pre-order the game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or Windows PC will receive exclusive early access to the Deathstroke pack."

Warner Bros. has not yet replied to requests for comment on the matter.

Batman: Arkham Origins is set to be released for PS3, PC, Xbox 360 and Wii U. A New Zealand retailer has however listed the game for PS4 and Xbox One. The current-gen version of the game is set to be released on October 25th. Batman: Arkham Origins Blacklight is also set to be released on the 25th for PS Vita and 3DS.
