The mobile version of the massively popular third-person battle royale shooter, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has just surpassed 10 million active users around the world (excluding China.)
The PUBG MOBILE development team is focused on delivering the original PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds PC version’s core excitement to mobile, optimizing the user interface so that mobile players can play as intended. The team paid special attention to the controls and optimization to give players a smooth, intuitive and immersive experience. The team is also working hard to consistently update the game with new content every month.
It’s important to remind gamers that active users mean consistent player base, and not overall players. I’d be pretty interested to find out how many people have actually played the game in total.
That being said, is PUBG MOBILE bringing in cold hard cash? I mean what’s the point of consistent players if the game isn’t really making money to support itself. We recently learnt that Fortnite Mobile, a game which uses the same battle royale game mode has already made over $50M since launch.
‘Fortnite Mobile has managed to do incredibly since its launch two months back – the game managed to bring in a whopping $20 million in the space of 2 months alone. Sensor Tower’s analysis also revealed that player spending had increased by 293 percent thanks mostly to the Season 4 Battle Pass which retailed for $10.’
