If you’re a big fan of Civilization 5, it’s possible that you haven’t seen the light of day since the PC game’s original release. Similar to an MMO like World of Warcraft or team-based game like League of Legends, the entertainment loop that this strategy game supplies can be almost impossible to walk away from after getting the hang of the mechanics. If you haven’t had a chance to do much else but eat, sleep, and play Civ 5, know that there’s a new expansion for the game on the way, and yes, it comes with a slew of fresh, exciting features.
Civilization V: Brave New World, the second expansion from Firaxis Games, will be making its way to the PC and Mac this July, and with it come trade routes. There will be new civilizations, units, and wonders, but international trade is one of the biggest additions. Routes can be established between a city and a city state to send out and receive gold from a distance. The caravans and cargo ships, which are two new units in this expansion, will help make gold trading much faster and easier, but they will be quite vulnerable to enemy attack. Players will have to establish strategic paths between locations if they wish to succeed.
If you’re interested in adding more strategy to your life, Brave New World (and its nifty box art) will be launching on PC and Mac July 9 in North America and July 12 for the rest of the world.
