As spotted by Reddit users the Creative Assembly's upcoming Total War: Rome 2 is more expensive to pre-order on Steam than on Amazon or Sega's website.
Both Amazon and Sega's web store list the game as being $59.95 while the turn based strategy title costs over $70.00 on Steam. It's unclear why the title costs more on Valve's client.
Rome 2 is already the most pre-ordered title in the series' history with the last entry in the franchise, Total War: Shogun 2, selling two million copies.
Anyone who pre-orders the game will receive the Greek States Culture Pack DLC which adds three new civilizations for use in both single-player and multiplayer. Those would-be generals who opt for the Total War: Rome 2 Collector's Edition will also pick up a functional catapult.
The latest entry in the highly acclaimed strategy series is set to be released on September 3rd. If you have pre-ordered the title already you might wish to change your retailer and if you're thinking about pre-ordering it's probably a good idea to shop around.
