Earlier this month, the world was introduced to the PlayStation 3 title Gran Turismo 6. More cars, more tracks, and an ever greater commitment to vehicular detail was promised, but gameplay failed to surface for one of the world’s most popular racing franchises. However, a two-minute long clip showcasing in-cockpit racing, although not official at this time, has been discovered, and continues the series’ tradition of being a true delight to lay eyes on.
The video comes straight from GTPlanet, displaying the popular track Autumn Ring. If you’re a core fan of the franchise, you may cringe at the level of play being shown, but it’s still the first sign of gameplay that we’ve seen since the game was announced. Other than the screenshots and teaser video released, this is the biggest chunk of media for Gran Turismo 6 out there.
If you plan on picking the game up later this year on the PlayStation 3, know that a PS4 version is possible. Although it won’t be arriving in 2013, creator Kazunori Yamauchi has a planned laid out for the release and future support of GT6 that includes a next-gen iteration.
“I thought the best scenario would be to have the game come out, then to have new scenarios, new DLC and other updates,” Yamauchi said. “Once the players have thoroughly played out the system, if the PlayStation 4 version came out naturally, as part of that process, I think that would be the best scenario.”
Instead of looking too far ahead, put this current-gen project on your radar for later in 2013.
