Sony has registered two new slogans apparently for their upcoming PlayStation 4 marketing campaign which puts the focus clearly on gaming.
The first trademark is 'The Best Place to Play' while the second trademark is 'Push the Boundaries of Play'. The applications, which come not long before E3, would seem to suggest Sony are determined to push the PS4 first and foremost as a gaming device.
Earlier this week, Microsoft announced the Xbox One as an entertainment hub and gave a significant portion of their hour long presentation over to television including the announcement of a Halo television series from Steven Spielberg.
This morning Sony took out an advertisement in the UK Metro newspaper which read "Now is the time, the world's greatest players are going to entertain, create and amaze on the ultimate stage. This year a new generation will push the boundaries of play and share in moments of wonder. This year players will become legends."
The inclusion of the words 'push the boundaries of play' would almost certainly seem to suggest the slogan will become a key piece of Sony's marketing.
It's believed that the first PlayStation 4 TV commercial will be shown during the Champions League final tomorrow. Sony has also registered 'Greatness Awaits' for PS4 advertisements.
