FIFA 14, the next big thing in the world of soccer, now has an official release date that the world (but mostly Europe) will be eagerly anticipating. For those expecting to pick up the massive sports title on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or PC, prepare to dive right in Sept. 24 in North America, and Sept. 27 for the rest of the world.
The pre-order incentives are pretty tempting for anyone who’s deeply invested in the franchise. Those who plan on dropping some cash at GameStop, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Amazon, or Origin will receive 24 FIFA Ultimate Team Packs – which is one per week for 24 weeks– that can be used to build and strengthen a squad in Ultimate Team. Think of this as a dream team comprised of any real-world players that interest you.
But that’s not all, folks. If you were paying attention to the Xbox One reveal that occurred earlier this week, you’ll remember that FIFA 14 is also a next-gen game. This is one of the four EA Sports games confirmed to not only be available on the Xbox One, but also to make use of the new Ignite Engine. Because of the separate development and dependence on consoles that won’t be released until later this year, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of FIFA 14 won’t be available until a later date. Since both of the next-gen consoles should be at retailers before Christmas rolls around, it’d make sense for this soccer franchise to release around that time.
