At this point, I think EA just likes playing with our emotions. Although it didn’t sell quite up to AAA-game standards, Mirror’s Edge was well loved by vocal group of players. The first-person platforming and bright art style were unlike anything that’s been seen before, and the outcry for a sequel has almost been deafening. We’ve heard rumors of the game getting started and cancelled multiple times, but according to a new listing by a trusted retailer, the sequel to the high-flying adventure may finally be coming to fruition.
Amazone.de, which is the German version of the popular online-retail website, has just listed Mirror’s Edge 2 for the Xbox One. Although there’s no real boxart to speak of, the website is taking pre-orders and slapping a high price of 99 euros on the listing. A member of NeoGaf was first to spot the exciting development.
So, is it real? It’s difficult to tell. It would be strange for Amazon to place it on its website without some sort of word from the people over at EA or DICE, but nothing can really be confirmed at this point. If it is legitimate, expect to hear a whole bunch more about it at next month’s E3.
