Now that every next generation console exists in an official form, developers can begin to confirm specific platform releases.
This holiday, Battlefield 4 will launch on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. With no official release dates announced for the new consoles, Battlefield 4 will launch on October 29th for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
If you pre-order Battlefield 4, players will gain free access to the China Rising expansion pack that features four massive multiplayer maps on Chinese mainland, new vehicles and "high tech military equipment."
Aside from expected graphical improvements with the next-gen console versions of Battlefield 4, no details mention whether the max number of players will expand to match its PC counterpart, or if they will reflect the limitations of the console versions. If all console versions share the same limitations, it remains unclear if cross platform play between for example, PS3 and PS4 players, becomes a possibility.
For players who pre-order the Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition on EA's Origin platform, they will receive bonus in-game items and multiplayer beta access in addition to the base game and China Rising DLC.
To watch a live Battlefield 4 gameplay demo, developers DICE will stream their game during E3 on June 10th both on Spike TV their website. DICE will also live stream the events within their E3 booth and provide commentary for any multiplayer matches held that week.
