Dead Island: Riptide is finally off the top spot on the UK charts in its fourth week since launch, though its usurper is another game from the same publisher (Deep Silver): Metro Last Light. This second Metro game has actually managed to debut at number one in these charts with fewer sales than its predecessor Metro 2033, which only made it to number five in its first week back in 2010. That was in week 11, too, not known as a particularly busy time of the year for games. It all seems to suggest that game sales are at a low point right now.
Despite losing top spot, Dead Island: Riptide has managed to stay at number two given the relatively low sales needed for chart success at the moment. FIFA 13 has gotten a boost thanks to retailer promotions and is now back in third place, which means that Tomb Raider has dropped from that position at last; in fact, it's fallen to sixth. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Infinity, the sixth of the Mystery Dungeon games, has debuted in fourth place, not bad for a game that's only available on 3DS. It even managed to beat Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which is still going strong in fifth place despite its age.
The Walking Dead proves itself to be as slow as the creatures it's about, as it gathers a 28% increase in sales and moves from number nine to number seven. The top ten rounds off with Injustice: Gods Among Us, Assassin's Creed III, and BioShock Infinite.
