Sony may not be able to best Microsoft in the multiplayer department, but the one feature it has over its rival is its remote play, at least in some games, which allows players to play their PlayStation 3 titles remotely on a PS Vita. It's a feature that Sony plans on bringing to its next-gen platform, the PlayStation 4, and one which it has confirmed today will support every game, unlike the PS3.
The PS4 feature was previewed way back in February when Mark Cerny showcased how the PS4 game Knack was played remotely on a PS Vita. He was quoted as making the following statement:
“We would like every PS4 game to be able to use this service as we are sure they will, in time.”
Back then, Cerny was undoubtedly unable to confirm or deny whether every game would come with support. However, it looks like Sony has managed to iron out whatever issues they may have had at the time and can now confirm that it will offer support for remote play on every PS4 title.
The official PS4 website has been updated today with the following statement:
“Play your favorite PS4™ games on your PlayStation®Vita’s beautiful 5-inch display using Remote Play.”
It comes with the following image, depicting Killzone: Shadow Fall as its played on the PS Vita:
There's good reason to believe that if the statement applies to every other game on the platform. This bodes well for anyone who owns a PS Vita or plans to pick one up.
