Despite the close proximity of the game's launch virtually nothing is known about multiplayer in The Last of Us. While it's true to say the single player is what has most people interested in Naughty Dog's newest IP Uncharted has done a good job creating a multiplayer that fits in with the core experience of that series and it's likely the studio has crafted an equally good online element for The Last of Us.
We do know that the Joel and Ellie special editions of the game come with the Survival Pack for multiplayer.
The developer has previously revealed that the game will have a single player campaign lasting 12-16 hours and that they currently have no plans to bring the game to PS4.
The Last of Us is set to be released on June 14 exclusively on PlayStation 3.
