Marvel Heroes, the upcoming free-to-play MMO from Gazillion Entertainment (including Diablo creator David Brevik), will now be available on Steam. The team behind the game announced on Friday that you can already download the Marvel Heroes game client through Steam, so that it's ready to go when the game launches on June 4. Just search for Marvel Heroes in Steam to find the client (it's apparently in the section headed “Final Beta Weekend”), and you can grab it now.
The game is still free whether you install it through Steam or direct from the Marvel Heroes website, but Gazillion wanted to make the game available through Steam as well “as its a popular platform for game distribution, and we know a lot of people are big Steam fans.” Even if you do get the game through Steam, however, you'll still need a Marvel Heroes account to play. Fortunately, you can use the same account for both methods of downloading and playing the game, so if you've already bought a Founders Pack through the game's “Founders Program” then you don't have to buy it again or worry about transferring over your purchase; the content is connected to your account.
Those who are taking part in the Founders Program and have the “Ultimate Pack” get early access to the game on May 28. For everyone else, the game launches on June 4. The game is free, but players can pay for in-game items. Will you try it? Or is LEGO Marvel Heroes more your kind of thing?
