International Business Times sources claim to have confirmation that the next Xbox, set to be unveiled by Microsoft on May 21st, will be called Xbox Infinity.
This follows the recent leak of the image at the top of this story on Reddit, while there's every possibility the image, and the name, is fake – it seems quite likely in fact – Microsoft has simply issued a statement to IBT saying "we do not comment on rumor and speculation."
Other names suggested for the next Xbox include Xbox Fusion, for which Microsoft owns several associated web domains, Xbox Gold , Xbox 8 and simply Xbox. Of course, the logical progression after Xbox 360 would be Xbox 720 but there's no clear confirmation to date that this will be the system's name.
It's believed that the console's codename within Microsoft is Durango. Microsoft plan to reveal their system at 10:00 PT on May 21st. According to reports the console will launch in early November and cost $299 with a subscription or $499 as a one off payment.
Asside from the new console's reveal at the special May 21st event Microsoft plan to showcase their full range of upcoming titles at E3 and will also be returning to gamescom this year having bypassed the show last year.
