Bethesda has issued several new screenshots for Wolfenstein: The New Order which was announced this week following a series of teasers.
The New Order takes place in an alternative timeline which sees B.J. Blazkowicz take on an army of robotic Nazis during the 1960s. The reveal trailer for the game suggested that both London and New York will feature in the title.
Swedish developer MachineGames is heading up development on the title, the studio was founded in 2009 by former StarBreeze employees and was acquired by Bethesda parent company Zenimax Media in 2010. Bethesda will be publishing the game which is a single player only title.
The New Order is set to be released later this year for PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and the next Xbox.
Epic Mickey creator Warren Spector has already directed controversy at the game asking "Did the world really need another Wolfenstein game? Did we need a generically dark, monochromatic, FPS, kill-the-Nazi-robot game?"
Spector later wrote a mea culpa concerning his comments saying "I'm sorry. I owe the Wolfenstein team an apology."
The screenshots, below, highlight the robotic Nazi enemies players will be facing as well as some of the game's core characters.
