Marvel has published a 37-second teaser trailer for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes on its YouTube channel, featuring a small – yet noteworthy – selection of the characters that will appear in the game. We get to see Spiderman swing into the frame, followed by a shot of Thor proudly holding his hammer aloft, Wolverine slicing a stack of lego bricks into four individual pieces, and a roar from the non-standard-sized Hulk. Guess which hero each of these adjectives applies to:
“There comes a time when the amazing, the mighty, and the uncanny must come together as one.”
In the team shot, the first four are joined by Black Widow, Captain America, Iron Man, and Deadpool, who cowers under an umbrella as a giant shadow advances on the group. Iron Man lifts his visor so that he can speak, something that is still relatively new to the Lego games from Traveller's Tales, as the trend started with LEGO Batman 2.
“We're going to need a bigger team,” he says, in a voice that sadly isn't Robert Downey Jr.'s but still sounds quite capable of delivering a good quip or two.
He means it, too. In typical Traveller's Tales style, the final game will have more than 100 Lego characters to choose from, presumably unlocked throughout the campaign and selectable in Free Play mode.
LEGO Marvel Heroes will release for 3DS, DS, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Vita, and Wii U later this year. What hero do you hope to find in the game?
