Microsoft has announced that they are set to return to Europe's biggest game industry event, gamescom, held annually in Cologne Germany having bypassed last year's session.
"2013 is a big year for Xbox. We can hardly wait to introduce the visitors at gamescom to the next chapter of Xbox. We are pleased to provide further details on this in the coming weeks and months," commented Phil Harrison President of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business for Europe.
German site GameStar carried Harrison's remarks while Graeme Boyd, Microsoft's Social Marketing Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Tweeted:
Xbox will be back at gamescom this August. "Next chapter of Xbox gaming experiences" on show. Can't wait, LOVE gamescom. @gamescomcologne

gamescom is the biggest game industry event in terms of visitor numbers with over 275,000 visitors last year. It's also usually an important showing for Sony who often keep some significant announcements for the event, this year of course will see both Sony and Microsoft compete with their next generation consoles.
As for what that "Next chapter" might be it's believed Crytek's Ryse, a new Forza and possibly another Project Gotham Racing are being lined up for the Xbox 720. It has also been reported that Respawn's first game will be a Microsoft exclusive.
The next Xbox is due to be revealed on May 21st. gamescom is set to be held from August 21st to 25th with the public having access from the 22nd to the 25th.
