Prey 2 has had a troubled development since it was officially announced in March 2011. When rumours concerning the game's cancellation circled in March 2011 Bethesda merely issued a "no comment" statement. The following month Bethesda said "The delay (in the game's release) is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards. Prey 2 has shown great promise and we regret disappointing our fans."
The game's developer, Human Head Studios noted in October that "Prey 2 hasn't been officially cancelled, [it's] only in limbo."
Last week we reported that a posting on Nvidia's website seemed to suggest the game was still in development. Given how much the game has been delayed it now seems likely Prey 2 will be a next-gen or cross-gen title. Either way, we should know more soon.
This wouldn't be the first time Bethesda have teased a project on Twitter, recently using the social network's Vine application to hint at The Evil Within before making an official announcement.
