During the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo, NetherRealm Studios held a panel for their DC fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us. Here, they showed off a trailer and announced a May 7th release date for the DC anti-hero, "The Main Man", Lobo.
He looks to be a mid-to-close-ranged brawler with several command grabs at his disposal. Lobo also has what will likely be my favorite super move in the game. When it was starting up during the trailer, I had assumed it'd be somewhat like Ghostrider's super move in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but Lobo's super move is far superior in style and humor.
In DC Comics' New 52 reboot, Lobo had his design and origin completely rehauled by controversial comic book artist Rob Liefeld. As expected, this was met with heavy criticism. Thankfully, this version of Lobo in Injustice seems to be pre-DC-reboot Lobo. Lobo was first designed with the Punisher/Wolverine violent anti-hero personality type in mind and he's also said to be Stan Lee's (of Marvel Comics) favorite DC Comics character.
NetherRealm Studios' Injustice: Gods Among Us was released on April 16th for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. You can read our review of Injustice right here. Lobo is the first downloadable character for Injustice and will be available for purchase on May 7th.
