Battlefield 4 will be looking to shock the world with its first gameplay reveal at E3 2013 in June, according to BF4Central. This does not come as a surprise, as gamers have been teased with a myriad of different leaks and teases since late 2012. Considering we are less than two weeks away from May, the time for Battlefield 4 grows closer than ever.
However, DICE and EA aren't ready to stop the hype train here. They have announced that retailers such as Gamestop and EB games will be handing free pairs of Battlefield 4 dog tags when you preorder the game. Walmart will also be hitting the market, offering a free copy of Battlefield 3 with your early purchase. Retailer Target will also place its bid in the pot with a $5.00 gift card for your $1.00 preorder on the title.
Also, remember that with any preorder made for Battlefield 4, you'll in turn receive a free copy of the 'Drone Stike' expansion pack – the game's first downloadable content package. Most DLCs will run you quite a bit more than this, so compounded with offers from each retailer, you could find yourself spinning up quite the deal.
While this is certainly a small example of the few preorder offers that will surely be offered, it shows that EA is dedicated to getting this game in consumers' hands off the bat. Considering how vocal the company has been regarding the online portion of the Battlefield franchise, there's no doubt that they want to establish a strong player base off the bat.
