According to the Nintendo Direct live conference this morning, a new Mario Party title is on the way for 3DS. Expected for the holiday season of winter 2013, it is so far simply referred to as Mario Party 3DS.
There are no other details at this time but you can get a tiny glimpse of what it will look like in the provided screen shot. Expect more of the multiplayer minigames that made the series so popular. Think of the potential it now wields with the 3DS' StreetPass feature!
