Beginning next week a Kickstarter for the development of Jagged Alliance: Flashback will begin with contributions from just $5 accepted. An overall price for the production of the game has not yet been announced.
According to the game's press release Flashback is "not just a reboot, but a reset that returns the franchise to the tactical turn-based action of the original games.
"Starting next week Full Control will turn to crowdfunding and launch a Kickstarter campaign to finance the project. Supporters of the project can get involved by pledging as little as $5. Set in the mid-1980's on the Caribbean Island of San Cristobal Jagged Alliance: Flashback transports players back in time to the Cold War era.
"Futher details of Jagged Alliance: Flashback and the Kickstarter campaign will be announced next week," the press release adds.
The game's developer, Danish studio Full Control, is currently working on a new Space Hulk game and will then proceed to make Flashback.
A strategy title, Jagged Alliance was first launched in 1994 and recieved a sequel, Jagged Alliance 2, in 1999. A 2010 reboot, Jagged Alliance – Back in Action, saw the series return though Full Control intend to return to the franchise's roots in Flashback.
Neither launch platform(s) nor a release date have been revealed at this point though we should know more next week when details of the Kickstarter campaign are announced.
