We reported late last week that Need for Speed: Underground may be getting a reboot from Criterion Games. The report was based on a logo of the game, which surfaced on a number of websites, depicting a variety of cities and famous monuments in its typeface.
Following the report, Alex Ward of Criterion Games has denied that they are developing a reboot of Need for Speed: Underground. The developer took to Twitter to call the remake "totally fake".
He wrote: "Totally fake. Remakes and Reboots? #movedon" and "May as well add this. Sequels. Reboots. Remakes. Been there. Done that."

It's difficult to say whether he was saying that the studio would no longer develop reboots or remakes after its last title, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, or if he was simply shooting down the possibility of a Need for Speed: Underground reboot.
Regardless of what he meant by it, there are more than enough gamers out there—ourselves included—who'd like to see a remake, reboot, or some sort of spiritual sequel to Need for Speed: Underground.
