Minecraft has hit its 10 millionth sales milestone. That's a whole lot of copies for a game with so humble a beginning. From indie darling to triple-A superstar, Minecraft has made its developers at Mojang an ample profit and its creator, Notch, a successful game developer.
The sales figures were released today by the folks at Minecraft, who tabulated the copies they sold of the game across all of its main platforms, including the PC, Mac, and Linux. They even set up a website counter to keep track of the game. Interestingly, the sales figure does not include numbers from the Xbox Live Arcade or mobile versions of the game.
The game's current lead developer Jens Bergernsten is pleased by the development and has announced that the next big version of the game—1.6—will see the addition of horses and horseback riding.
Minecraft (PC) has hit 10M! As promised, a subtle hint on the main 1.6 feature (thanks @ebbakier): imgur.com/qAuCLex 😀

Not bad. I'll look forward to building a stable in my castle.
